📰 General News

🚗 Alanya Municipality is implementing a vehicle access control system at Alanya Castle area with license plate recognition technology, where residents and local businesses will have free access while visitors will pay a reasonable parking fee at entry. This measure aims to reduce traffic congestion, enhance pedestrian safety, and preserve the historic site's integrity as the municipality continues preparations for UNESCO World Heritage List application.

🍽️ The Alanya Municipality is preparing to open a public restaurant after the success of its public cafes. Located at the Hacıkaranfiller Mansion near Alanya High School, the restaurant aims to promote socializing and will not prioritize economic gain, with similar ventures in Istanbul and Mersin receiving great interest.

⚕️ Alanya Education and Research Hospital successfully performed its first closed prostate cancer surgery (Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy), providing a minimally invasive option with faster recovery times. This advancement allows local patients to receive this advanced treatment without needing to travel to larger cities.

🪂 A paraglider who fell into the sea in Alanya's Damlataş area was rescued by a Boat. The boat crew quickly reached the scene, brought the paraglider aboard, and confirmed that the person was unharmed after a check-up.

🚫 The quarry in Alanya's Uğrak neighborhood had previously caused the closure of the road twice and disturbed local residents. The Alanya Municipality sealed the quarry after it was found to be operating without a proper license.

🚧 The Alanya Municipality has begun asphalt removal and repair work on streets in Sugözü and Küçükhasbahçe neighborhoods, including the 3,950-meter Teras Road, which will be completed within 33 days. Traffic will be regulated to a single lane during the project, which aims to improve transportation on major routes.

🎃 The Alanya Municipality and Alanya City Council will distribute 24,700 gourd seedlings for free, starting on Tuesday, April 15, at the Tuesday market. The seedlings, produced in the municipality's greenhouse, will be available at various markets throughout the city.

🚔 Traffic and Public Safety

🚨 In recent traffic inspections targeting motorcyclists in Alanya, police fined 179 riders a total of 778,619 TL for various violations and banned 32 motorcycles from the roads.

🚓 Similarly, drone-assisted checks by the gendarmerie resulted in fines totaling 79,631 TL for 53 drivers caught running red lights, using phones while driving, or neglecting seatbelt and helmet rules.

🧳 A suspicious suitcase left near the Alanya Municipality tea garden caused alarm, prompting a police and bomb squad response, but it was found to contain only clothes and posed no danger.

🗡️ A man who had been dismissed from a restaurant (Tavuk Dünyası - Alanyum) in Alanya stabbed his former manager in the leg during a heated argument; the injured manager was taken to the hospital, and police are searching for the attacker.

🔌 The electrical panel and cables of a drinking water well in Gökbel Plateau near Kestel were stolen by unidentified individuals, prompting an investigation by the gendarmerie. Authorities have warned locals to stay alert for similar incidents.

🚨 Three friends visiting Alanya from Antalya were arrested after insulting a doctor and attacking security officers at the Alanya Training and Research Hospital, following an incident where one of them fell ill after drinking alcohol. They were detained by the gendarmerie and later sent to prison after a court hearing.

🌳 In Mahmutlar, Alanya, strict inspections were carried out in parks to address citizens littering by throwing sunflower seed shells on the ground. municipal police teams fined offenders and had them clean the area.

🚨 Unknown individuals attacked ATMs on Oral Street in Alanya's Saray neighborhood, breaking the screen panels of the machines. Police are conducting a large-scale investigation to identify the perpetrators.

✈️ Tourism

✈️ For those who travel frequently, I would like to share an important announcement by Antalya Airport.

Dear Business Partner,
Within the scope of the Antalya Airport expansion project, it is planned that 85% of the international flights during the summer season of 2025 will be operated from the existing Terminal 2 and the Terminal 2 annex.
In accordance with this project, the international departures' passport control checkpoint will be moved to the newly constructed Terminal 2 annex as of 15.04.2025.
With the new arrangement, after passengers pass through the passport control located behind the check-in counters, they will proceed to an upper floor to reach the second security checkpoint.
After the security control, passengers will then need to move up one more floor to enter the duty-free area and proceed to the departure gates.
We anticipate that these changes could significantly extend the time required for passengers to reach their departure gates.
Therefore, we strongly remind our passengers that, in order to avoid arriving late at the gate area, they must be at the airport at least 3 hours and 30 minutes before their flight as of 15.04.2025.

🌍 A meeting was held under the leadership of the Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV) with the participation of local tourism operators to discuss plans and solutions for 2025. The Alanya Municipality is focused on improving tourism with projects like a new sports facility opening in June, enhancing security, and upgrading key areas like Güzelyalı Street, with the goal of branding Alanya as a top tourist destination.

🎨 After a 17-year break, the Alanya International Cartoon Competition was held for the ninth time, attracting 481 artists from 66 countries with over a thousand entries. Winners received cash prizes and a holiday in Alanya, with the top cartoons to be showcased at the upcoming Alanya Culture, Art and Tourism Festival.

⚽ Alanyaspor lost 1-0 at home to Bodrum FK in a crucial match affecting the relegation zone, with the only goal scored in the 81st minute. While Alanyaspor's coach cited an unlucky goal despite controlling the game, the team now prepares for its next challenge against Samsunspor.

🪂 Ahead of the 2025 tourism season, Alanya authorities held a meeting to update safety regulations for paragliding, aiming to enhance service quality and align with current needs. New flight standards and safety measures will be added to the 2021 directive, with support from Alanyaspor and local cooperatives.

🥊 Alanya Belediyespor's boxers won four silver medals at the Antalya Provincial Youth and Junior Women's Boxing Championship. Zeynep Bera Akpolat, Duru Yetiş, Rüya Coşkun, and Suna Deniz Taraklı achieved second place in their respective categories.
